With Mitchell's attentive work and personalized training plan, I have noticed significant improvements in strength, speed, endurance, and performance. He has been incredibly flexible in crafting training plans around my schedule and is always willing to meet up to review swim form. Mitchell loves to geek out and answer all my questions about fitness performance metrics and explains his thought process behind the workout plan.
Mitchell is not just a coach, he's a friend. What is so important about that quality is that this means he cares about my well-being and health more than anything. This includes asking me about my stress levels and sleep quality throughout the week, not just the day before race-day. How he differs is that he's willing to go the extra mile and do tons of research and reading to make sure we're using the latest and greatest techniques and strategies. He also encourages me to eat the way I think is best, not what the industry thinks is best. He focuses on the athlete wants, not on what he thinks we should want.
Before Coach Mitchell, I was all over the place. I was in beast-mode way more than I needed to be. I did not know how to go easy! I was stressing myself out and setting myself up for injury. I worked out to try to cure my pains. Now, with Coach Mitchell, I know how to just say 'No' to overdoing it. He also has helped me feel OK about missing workouts. That said, he has pushed me to new heights of physical achievement doing intervals I never thought possible. I now train with a focused intensity. I now podium at nearly every race in my age group. It was hit or miss before. Now I'm shooting for podium overall in all of my races. I placed 5th overall in my first long course triathlon with Coach Mitchell as my guru.
The stress of trying to figure out how to work out has been eliminated with Coach Mitchell's guidance. I no longer have to wonder if I'm pushing myself too hard (which I was previously). I no longer have to stress out about thinking I'm not going to be ready for a race. His requirements for me to use a foam roller, weekly also hold me accountable to doing that somehow-difficult task. I need this. Coach Mitchell simplifies triathlon for me to allow me to enjoy the sport to its fullest and thus my life outside of triathlon too!

Mitchell’s coaching is unique in that he is able to apply his knowledge and racing experience to multiple aspects of training. Through his customized training plan, high tech bike fitting and expert swim coaching, Mitchell has helped me become a better athlete, gain confidence, and avoid injury. I especially like using the interactive Training Peaks calendar, as he is able to monitor my progress and prescribe workouts based on the data I upload. It gives me both a sense of accountability and accomplishment, and I have learned a lot through this process, especially about various training zones. He is also incredibly nice and takes time to answer questions in detail. His coaching has enabled me to build up to my first half-iron distance without injury, and I’ve never felt stronger or more fit.
